Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drinks Boston Reviews from The Last Year
Refreshingly wonderful in every way!
Absolutely perfect, refreshingly wonderful evening celebrating graduation. Letecia flawlessly served us fabulous appetizers including mussels, bone marrow and artichoke agnolotti all deliciously interesting, meals, desserts, an excellent wine from my favorite vineyard in Provence, Chateau Neuf du Pape and more. It is always a joy and a rarity to receive perfect service and delicious, creative dining. Above 5 stars! Bravo!
Best Server Ever!
Best server ever! Name was Angile or Angel? Kindest person, helped us celebrate our special occasion and arrange our trip home. Thank you, much appreciated! Otherwise, the space is large, clean and pleasant, the food tasty, and the wine / beer list very good. A stone's throw from Fenway, so perfect after a game.
Superb food and service
You will often hear locals complain about the new location of Eastern Standard 'not being as good as the original." I thought this one was pretty terrific. Located near Fenway park, you will find traffic and parking to be challenging on a game night. Take an Uber instead. We started our meal with a dozen perfect fresh and briny Wellfleet oysters and a bottle of sparkling wine. The Friday night special was lobster gnocchi and it was fantastic. Someone in the kitchen must have learned from their Italian Grandmother because these were the best gnocchi we've had outside of Italy. My son's grilled salmon was good, but not great. And my spaghettini with clams was simple and tasty. Side orders of Salt Cod fritters and Haricot verts were perfectly cooked and spiced. Our experienced waiter gifted our table with a decadent bread pudding dessert to celebrate an engagement. I would gladly return to Eastern Standard to see if their other "special of the day" offers are as good as Friday's gnocchi.
If you have not tried the new Eastern Standard, you should.
My son and daughter and their spouses and I went Saturday night, The food was as great as the service. Parking was easy . It was a great night. It is not cheap but is a lot more reasonable than the steak places and the Seaport, Try it. On Beacon St near Kenmore Square.
Outstanding Service and manager
Went to Eastern Standard with a friend that made the reservation. The food was very good, although they could use some more comfort items like french onion soup rather than some of the odd menu items. The atmosphere is great and the service was even better. We had a couple of minor issues and the manager was a true pro and took care of everything while making us feel special. He even wore a bow tie which was really nice to see these days.
Yearning for the Old Eastern Standard
Garrett - I spent many happy times at Eastern Standard, one of my regular go to restaurants. The new one has the same great food (especially the profiteroles) and service. However, the whiskey smash is mostly ice and very little liquor. Tasty, but definitely not worth the price. Wine pours were good. But you don't have Death's Door gin anymore. Sad. Noise level was ok, but it was Christmas Eve and not terribly busy. I can imagine it would be insufferable with a crowd, especially the bar area which is large and probably designed for partying Red Sox fans. The dining room itself is fine, but there is a weird empty area with a few tables near the hostess desk. Feels very empty, cold and like an afterthought. The whole restaurant is not nearly as warm and inviting as the old one. It does look like they are going to have a terrific patio in the warm months. We wanted to love it, but just liked it. Lastly, parking is a pain. No street parking, just a garage which charges $19 and $50+ on game nights. Good luck to you. I'm sure you'll do fine. I just miss the old place.
Eastern Standard... Ain't what it used to be!
The early reviews of Eastern Standard 2.0 were glowing, which made me eagerly anticipate the return of this dependably great restaurant. Sorry to say it's not what it used to be. First, the ambience is in between a corporate dining room and a generic large hotel restaurant. Sadly, it lacks the warmth and welcome of the original ES. The food was fine, not remarkable in any way. I had the halibut which was drowning in its accompanying side dish and sauce; my husband had the steak, which he said was pretty good. I reminded them 3x it was his birthday... but somehow the message did not get through. Otherwise, service was good but the menu was generally ho-hum, and the location a bit obscure during neighborhood construction. I don't see us returning anytime soon.
Good Food, Drink and Service!
Apparently we ate there in just the second week of operation for Eastern Standard in this new location. Beautiful restaurant, great lively vibe, skews younger but us retired folk felt at home there, too. Wonderful cocktail offerings; I had the Sazerac, which was very smooth. Our mains were the baked rigatoni with lamb sausage -- a tasty twist on a traditional dish --- and the Monday special of braised chicken with ricotta dumplings. The latter was spritely with a light lemon accent, and my husband all but licked the platter clean. We want to give a shout out to Mike, who provided excellent service accompanied by some true crime stories not widely shared. Don't worry Mike, our lips are sealed.
Thrilled about the return of the great Eastern Standard!
We were excited about getting a reservation on opening weekend of Eastern Standard; our much loved, fun, excellent favorite restaurant. It’s new location is beautiful as are the decor and presentation of the restaurant itself (no surprise there, given the spot on instincts of highly acclaimed restaurateur Garrett Harker). The bar scene is super lively. We liked being seated in the table section around the corner from the entrance and across from the bar which has both booths and tables. Our waiter was wonderful, knowledgeable and attentive in just the right amount and he gave us great food recommendations. I had the roasted half chicken which is prepared on top of a thick piece of sourdough bread which soaks up the delicious light wine based garlic sauce, which I loved. I also tried the squash side dish which was delicious! The bread pudding desert is also great. Overall a super fun, lively evening with delicious food. Kudos to Garrett Harker and team

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
