Hoshino Minato City Reviews from The Last Year
Location, great! Staff meh. Small rooms, with very little place for luggage.
We stayed five nights this hotel. If all you care about is location, then this might be for you. It's well situated amongst many restaurants and some shops. Our first impression was pretty poor as we arrived at 2:51 pm and were told (kind of rudely) that check in starts at 3 and there's a long line of people ahead of you so you will have to wait (with very little place to wait given the throngs of people waiting to check in). At 3 pm exactly they started the process (it almost felt like we were cattle-that feeling didn't change much during our stay). In fact if you choose this hotel, check in after 4 pm so you won't be frustrated. The rooms are really small-best for those with small bags (we had a large suitcase which was tough). The price was very reasonable but I would not choose to stay here again.
OMO3 level will not be considered for stay again
It was my first time staying at Hoshino Hotels and I decided to book Akaban Mitsuke to experience it. Because of the good location, just two blocks away is Akaban Mitsuke Station. There are several drugstores, convenience stores and restaurants near the hotel. Originally, The reservation does not include breakfast, so if you need to get up early the next day to catch sights, the nearby fast food is really helpful. Most of the hotel staff are young Japanese and can only communicate in basic English, but often they only speak Japanese. None of the staff are wearing OMO3 uniforms. Many times they are thought to be tourists but they are employees. The room feels spacious and spacious when viewed on the website. There is a sofa, but we felt it was too thin when we got to the room. It is a typical Tokyo hotel room. It is impossible to unpack two luggages. The wash basin has a glass cup and a hot water pot isolated in the corridor, but you must be careful every time you use the water pipe. , because the wash basin is high and water easily bounces off, so I kept wiping the countertop. We booked a twin room, so the bed was relatively close. The street view outside the window was very close to the residential houses, and there was no room. To change clothes, every time you use the shower room or change clothes, open the partition door in the middle of the corridor. The partition door is not locked and you have to inform your companions not to come in every time you use it. It is really inconvenient. The toilet space is ridiculously small. I sat down as soon as I opened the door and almost couldn't close the door. In addition, there are two coin-operated washing machines and dryers on the second floor. Because the room is too narrow, there is no seat for guests to wait for the clothes to be washed. It is also embarrassing that all the rooms on the second floor are occupied by local Japanese. When they came back, they went to the laundry room and looked at us several times, hoping that the hotel could improve the design of this room. Another feature of the hotel is that you can learn about the history of the hotel with their early bird tour. We joined the tour out of curiosity. As soon as the hotel manager saw us in the lobby, he asked us in Japanese if we wanted to join because we made a reservation on the hotel website before departure. , we had already picked up the early bird group flight when we checked in. The tour leader understood it when he saw us carrying it and then brought 3 books introducing the itinerary and scenic spots in different languages for us to choose from. Of course we chose the Chinese one. After I picked up this introduction book The tour leader also lent us a hanging neck fan. Unexpectedly, there were many wild walks in the walking group. If we needed to know information during the tour, the tour leader would use a translator to explain and communicate with us. The tour leader also helped us take a lot of photos. This group was the best Worth a visit.
Simple budget hotel
Hotel location is good, just a short walk from subway station. The area has lots of restaurants to choose from. For shopping, there is a BIC camera at the station and lots of drug stores. Hotel staff is friendly.Room size is good, the little corner sofa provides a cosy space for morning coffee. However, the fabric of the bed linens feels very rough and the two pillows(one hard one soft) are extremely uncomfortable.
Well located comfortable 3 star hotel
Our group of 6 - family and friends, stayed with Omo3 twice recently. This is a well located, clean and comfortable hotel. The rooms are small but provide everything one needs. Air conditioning has an in room control. Guests help themselves to bathroom provisions ie toothbrush at reception. The area has a good selection restaurants, convenience stores and the staff were friendly and professional.
