Wow. Is this place real?
Ducked in here to get away from the Amtrak waiting area and holy cow. I have never been in a more beautiful restaurant. Upscale interpretation of Mexican food. Not a rice and beans joint. Beautiful bar drinks and beautiful servers. I cant describe the room go and see it.
Be the first to ReplyFront desk staff need bias training
I made a reservation for a party of 3. I arrived on time but the other two members were finding parking. The hostess refused to seat me till the other members arrived and made me stand in the reception area till the rest of the members arrived. However, she went ahead and seated every other party that partially arrived offering that option upfront. I am unsure why I was treated with hostility. She completely refused to look at me and acknowledge my presence despite that I was the only member waiting in the reception area. Then when my fellow party members arrived and asked her why I was kept waiting at the reception without being seated despite having a reservation and being on time, she pretended not to know what they were talking about. I really think the restaurant needs to evaluate their reception staff and educate them about treating all type of guests appropriately and ensure bias training for them.
Be the first to ReplyCool Ambiance, Elevated Mexican Food with a Twist
A large group (17) of my colleagues had dinner at Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar during a conference at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center. It is less than a mile away, and the walk was refreshing. The ambiance was superb and the food was delicious. We shared several appetizers and each had adult beverages and an entree. Mine was the blackened Mahi-Mahi Tacos. The Cotton Candy after dinner treat was beloved by many. We had a great time. The final tab, including tip was $920, so not bad. My one piece of advice is to bring a light with you in the bathroom because it is a bit dark.

Here it isโฆ go here! We sat at the bar and enjoyed great cocktails and appetizers. Our Tacos Al Pastor were excellent! They have a mess of tequilas and mezcals to rival anything out there. The place is wild; inside and out. Our server/bartender was friendly & professional. Again, go here!

Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere! The gothic theme is amazing and is consistent throughout.
Be the first to ReplyService - terrible; Taste - Great; Portions - small; Ambience - good; Check - reasonable
We had long been meaning to come to this place and finally made it for a birthday dinner last night. Let's start at the start - the place does not show up properly in all maps and since it is a walk along the river, there is no easy way to get a car near it, so perhaps those directions need to be clearer. Having said that, the walk on a covered walkway from the bridge along the river to the restaurant is pleasant. The doors are old style, large framed. The place does look a lot darker than you can imagine or are led to believe. ID got checked at the door - not sure why - we had not ordered any drinks yet. But it was a pleasant interaction even with some banter. The front desk got us a table earlier than the one we had booked, it was also a Monday night. We were seated on a table and I noticed they were very close together. We are all "normal" sized adults and we had to squeeze and excuse our way into the other side of the table from both sides. They are also really close to the "bench" side, so you have to sit down and slide along. Our table had the missing "skull and roses" while all other tables had them. Since we wanted that iconic representation on our table too, for photos (it was a birthday dinner!), we made the mistake of asking our server. Her answer was "someone stole it from this table and hence we do not have it". There were several tables empty around the restaurant and I am sure they do not have the exact number of these as tables! This should have been our clue that the service was going to be shoddy. The menu is good, we had an ample variety for our various dietary needs. The flourish in the beginning with the palate cleanser (a smoking bowl of grapefruit slushie with a topping of some Agave liquer) was visually good and tasty. We knew the portions were small and we are not huge eaters, so we ordered enough for ourselves. Everything was tasty, portions were small - not much to say about that. Service? The server did not once come to check on us, nor offer us any water topup, walking by plenty of times and coming to the tables next to us several times (but turned away from us). So getting the attention in the noisy place was near impossible unless I stood up or shouted or stuck out a leg or something. We had to ask different people for water twice in the time we were there. The check came in, was pleasantly reasonable - probably because we did not order any drinks this time. The check came after ages and no one came to pick it up for ages too. The candy floss that comes at the end was topped with a candle in it (!!!!!) for birthday. Our neighbouring table got a little cupcake with a candle for the two women who were clearly celebrating a similar event. What can you do? All in all, if any management is ever reading this, get more pleasant people and improve the service. You seem to have plenty of feedback saying so. Go to your local retail grocery shop or a cafe and you will get better service than this place.

Terrible restaurant! The service is awful and the food is mediocre. The 2 hosts and the waitress were rude, racist and very unprofessional with my family. Iโll never come back to this place.

We travelled all the way from the UK bought a couple of drinks and sat down. The front of house (on the phone when we arrived) proceeded to ask us to return to the front desk with our drinks and told that the tables were for diners only. Only one table was occupied at the time. Unnecessary rudeness considering we may have made a rookie error. The person in particular should review their attitude.
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambiance but very small portions
The guacamole was absolutely delicious, just as the atmosphere! The portions were sadly a but small, still fulfilling but too small for the price in my opinion. They also bring complimentary cotton candy and sorbet which is nice. Sadly, we did not order drinks and it affected poorly the service we received... Which made our experience less nice.
Be the first to ReplyDramatic setting with Great Mexican food
Amazing decor in the Mexican theme of โThe Day of the Deadโ The meal started with a dry ice sorbet to set the mystical theme Excellent food with special care given to food allergies Wonderful service in a brilliant setting. A great dining experience

My daughter and I ate here on a recent trip to Boston. It was a little out of the way from most of the tourist areas, but was worth the extra walk! The atmosphere is cozy and fun and the food was amazing! Definitely try the cornbread appetizer! Also, they had some of the best margaritas we've had outside of Mexico. There are lots of little surprises during the meal that just make it feel extra special! Would definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a disappointment
If you want to drop $171 for three people- three drinks, chips with guac, and three plates of two tiny tacos, this is your spot. Our server could have advised us how small the plates were but she did not. Why? I felt silly when the food arrived. The music is deafening. Donโt even think about trying to converse. And this was on a Monday. I feel like we got scammed. I will gladly pay for a nice meal. This was bad in every way. Never again. They must be popular for date nights from tourists because I canโt imagine locals returning.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Food, Rude Hosts
The food was amazing and we loved the the loud music! Best Mexican food ever. Definitely try the Mexican Fried Rice! Our server was awesome, he was too funny. The only thing that wasn't great were the two front hostesses. They were very rude when we said we had a reservation at 4 and told us that we only had 2 hours and 15 min at our table since they had another party coming in at 7:30. So it takes over an hour to clean a table? We didn't understand why, but the hostess refused to elaborate. We felt extremely unwelcomed until we met our amazing server!
Be the first to ReplyDeafening music
The young women at the front desk were lovely when we explained to them we would not be able to stay because of the sound level of the music. It would have been impossible to even shout over the music. So if you are looking for a just reasonably noisy place, this is not it. However, it looked lovely and, as I said, the people were very pleasant.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing service
My friends and I reserved our table a week in advance for dinner. We arrived 18 or so minutes after our booked reservation time due to traffic. The 2 women at the front were incredibly rude and unwelcoming. They told me that they had a grace period of 15 minutes and our table was given away, so โtoo badโ as they said. They did not offer to help or give options of what to do. They just stared at us like we were bothering them because we told them that the rule was nowhere on the website. The whole restaurant had empty tables, so I was confused. It was very disappointing, I probably will not return plus the food is subpar and expensive.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and good value
Great food. Our server made excellent recommendations for menu choices. The service was attentive. Good value. Order the grilled corn on the cob and a few quesadillas. The meal finished off with complimentary cotton candy which my kids loved. We found it difficult to find parking. We were traveling from out of town, so maybe some parking or transit suggestions on the website would be helpful.
Be the first to ReplyVery very rude and unaccommodating hosts
I have never seen anything like this in my life. We reserved a large table and they ended up dividing our party into two tables at opposite ends of the restaurant. We were made to feel grateful for being allowed to eat there. The portions are small and not worth it. At one point we were told to leave because they needed the table though the place was not full. There is a culture of rude and aloof behaviour. (Wait staff were excellent to be clear; hosts were not).
Be the first to Replyi Que Buono ! Great Mexican food in the city
We had been to the 'Lolita' in Back Bay a few years ago, but it seems to be temporarily closed, so we sought out this one. Excellent drinks, kind & quick service, plus numerous options for our 4 vegetarian diners. Great to see that both 'Lolitas' have high standards. Definitely worth a visit if you want solid "cocina Mexicana" or just a fine drink by the water.
Be the first to ReplySave yourself some money and go elsewhere
Meh, drinks way over priced to Look pretty but yet have no alcohol! Food okay not great, we had a family of four thatโs all we had, and it took them 10 minutes to bring out four items separately. That is the number one rule not to go to a restaurant in my mind. Will not go back, SAVE YOUR MONEY!
