🤮 1/5 - A restaurant to avoid unless you want to lose 4 hours of your life

The food was average for Paris especially considering the price range. However, overall proteins were cooked well and the sauces were very richly seasoned. This was a very long meal - 4 hours for 10 courses (that we did not complete) and there were obviously some problems in the kitchen. The chef was yelling quite often. It would have been fine if they were piling on food for four hours but we spent most of the time waiting between courses. It took half an hour for the dessert course to come after the cheese course, at which point we decided we had enough and called for the check. The wine pairing was really mediocre. Very predictable wines that really didn’t do anything for the food. It was perplexing when the somewhat haughty sommelier told us that he could not change the wines served in the pairing (we had asked if it was possible to have more red wine) then proceeded to serve us wines that were all available by the glass on the wine list. We might as well have ordered red wine by the glass… There was another strange waiter who kept prefacing every presentation of a dish to us with “I don’t know what this is” and feigning ignorance. Maybe this is a really funny joke in France, but after the first time or two, it simply became annoying especially when we had been waiting so long for food. We settled the bill before we were served all our courses because we just wanted to get out of the restaurant. First time I haven’t completed a tasting menu.
