Salt Rock Grill Indian Shores Reviews from The Last Year

had an amazing girls dinner here and it was all thanks to our server Adam. he went above and beyond to make our experience one to remember. the food was incredible, the service was excellent and we had a wonderful time. thank you again Adam!
Very professional staff.
Great seafood and steaks. Can't go wrong selecting this place.
I see I'm not the only one with issue of manager being
I see I'm not the only one with issue of manager being condescending & rude. Their parking lot was full & simply ask hosted where pay by plate kiosk was for the lot next door along with whether she knew if would be ticketed with only 30mins left before free. Was interrupted by this person (beard & thick accent) , started chopping & directing with hands that they're ONLY responsible for THIS side and NOTHING to do with other. Common sense out the window on this, pitiful to say the least. Other than that, food & sever were great.
A manager with no human skills ?

My favorite restaurant on the beach
This is my favorite restaurant on the beach. This time we sat outside and it was very enjoyable. Pedro was our waiter and he was so professional. My stuffed Mahi Mahi was delicious, The only thing that annoyed me was that when I got the bill their was an upcharge for the pineapple that garnished my son-in-law's drink. There also was an upcharge for my husbands blue cheese. We were never told this when ordering. My son-in-law doesn't eat pineapple and my husband would have chosen a different dressing.
The meal and service was amazing minus the manager.
The manager's name was Jesus. He was without question the rudest person i have ever run into in the restaurant industry. Jesus was absolutely horrendous.
So good we visited twice
Great food with friendly staff. We enjoyed it so much our first night at Indian Shores, that we came back a few days later. The fish was fresh and tasty. The bone-in steak was phenomenal. The bread was served with olive oil and a delightful spice mixture. We loved the open kitchen and, on the second night, were seated near the water for a wonderful view. The cheesecake of the day was coconut with pineapple sauce and tasted heavenly. While we were able to get a table walking in on a Thursday, we couldn't get a reservation on Saturday, but made reservations for Sunday, so make sure you call ahead for a weekend.
Food was good and the service was good also.
Cocktails were excellent. They are always crowded so, make a reservation a few days in advance especially for the weekend.
Absolutely outstanding in every possible way.
The food was amazing, huge selection, excellent service and beautiful atmosphere
An unpleasant dining experience
After reading all the 5 star reviews, plus getting recommendations from other people, we expected to be blown away by our dinner experience. Instead it turned out to be a disaster and we will never return here. We arrived for dinner around 8 pm on a Sunday night. The restaurant has lots of seating, and was pretty packed. It was also pretty noisy, though we were still able to hear ourselves talk. But definitely no ambience. The AC was also turned up way too high (we heard other diners complain after dinner was over). We like to drink wine with dinner, but the wine menu is very limited. No pinot Grigio (even though it was listed on the menu) and no plain rose. Definitely not the place to get a nice glass of wine. Our servers promptly brought bread (very tasty) and a shrimp cocktail we ordered, which was wonderful. But after that things went downhill. We each ordered the grilled grouper dinner with sides of spinach. We waited 45 minutes for dinner--and then it arrived cold. Our servers told us that many other diners that night complained about cold dinners. The manager graciously did not charge for the dinners, but it was definitely not a pleasant dining experience. In addition, while the grouper was nicely prepared, it was also much smaller than the grilled grouper we got for lunch elsewhere at a fraction of the price. And the side orders of spinach were minuscule compared to what we have received at other restaurants. The restaurant seemed very chaotic, with lots of people running around. Not sure what was going on, but we definitely will never return.
Disappointing food and service on a not very busy Saturday afternoon. Our waiter,Michael was distracted, and scarce
We have eaten here numerous times before with both efficient service and wonderful food, but this time poor food and service
Amazaing server. Kristina.
Excellent server Kristina. She was amazing. Very accommodating. Had amazing recommendations. knew the menu. She made our evening memorable. Food was great.
Went on a Sunday afternoon.
The $20.00 menu has some great selections. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. Food was cold when it arrived. Service was terrible.
My husband and I were there a couple days ago.
Both of us had the snapper. The meal was mediocre at best. We have eaten here several times in the past on our visit to Florida and always had exceptional meals. The snapper had an unusually large grey side, almost half the fish. The piccata sauce was very salty. We decided we could have gotten a better quality meal for less $ at a beach bar down the road.
This was my first time there.
The ambiance is great. The service was good. The food was just Ok. The drinks were weak. This place looks really nice and I was expecting a better experience. I will try to go one more time and hopefully, it'll be a better experience.
Pretty upset with our visit today.
. without the long review.. long story short.. service was slow even tho he said there are three servers serving our area.. mojito tastes so bad.. ceaser salad seemed like it sat there cheese was old and hard.. portions were sooooo small! Chicken strips for child wet dark meat! Never heard of that! Server was extremely inattenive , sad that the restaurant keeps declining
Expensive ice
Be aware that a mixed drinks ingredients will be itemized on your bill. My wife's Amaretto sour on the Rocks had separate charges for the Amaretto, the sour and a $3 charge for the Rocks(aka ice). $3 for a few ice cubes!!!!
Wonderful Experience
Had the pleasure of dining at his great restaurant. We were on a 7 day trip and was highly recommended by a friend to get to Salt Rock. I made a reservation on Open Table for 2 at 8:30 for 4/10. 4/10 came around and we jumped in the car for the 2 and a half hour ride to Salt Rock. Made great time and got to Salt Rock faster than we thought. I proudly went up to the Hostess Stand and said we had a reservation for 8:30 - only to get “we don’t have a reservation under that name” - I then show my confirmation only to hear - “I am sorry, but that was for last night”. No harm no foul - we were seated and was told that ANTHONY was to be our server. ANTHONY was the absolute best, made great recommendations, was very attentive, knew the menu cold, made us feel welcomed and was excellent with his service. We come to find out that he came from the same area as my partner, that was a plus. The food was fantastic, so good and aroma from the wood fired grill was amazing.. If you get the opportunity to go to Salt Rock definitely go. Make sure you ask to be seated in ANTHONY’s service area - you will not be disappointed. Enjoy, enjoy!
Excellent food but too cold to enjoy!
We have been coming to the Salt Rock Grill every year since we have been coming to Florida for a few months in the spring. We are 2 couples and have always requested the same table. This year on our first visit we were literally shivering with the air conditioning unusually cold blowing directly on us. We mentioned it to our waiter and said he would see about it. Nothing was done. On the way out I spoke with the manager and a fellow that I assume was in maintenance and was told nothing has changed. All people at our table are from Maine so we very well know if it’s cold. The table next to us were frozen as well. I have a little knowledge of hvac and know something was not right. By the way, it was only 74 degrees outside!
Chaos and cold food - you can do better!
We have been coming to Salt Rock Grill for years on our annual visits to Florida. This year we booked Easter dinner for 4 on March 31st. The entire experience put a sore taste in our mouths and began with chaos and fights for parking and my husband was delayed by 30 minutes. There should be a valet or blocked off parking on these high traffic days! Also there should be person assisting seniors as they arrive and try to unload cars. We were seated by a snarky young girl and provided price fixed menus of which a good portion of the meals were sold out. Thank goodness for our server(Michelle) as she did her best to recover to situation. The food was cold and over priced. It is clear that the owner is no longer thinking of his customer experience! Over priced, poor quality and no appreciation for the customers experience!
Made a reservation almost a month in advance and was seated
Made a reservation almost a month in advance and was seated in a windowless area up front. We expressed our dismay and Jesus told us it's not about the table or the view, you're here to eat. He was condescending and dismissive. Ashley the hostess was also incredibly rude. Table of six and not one person was served the salads that were ordered. Too many lovely places in the area to be treated unprofessionally. Paul GM, I hope you're reading this. When the shift manager (Jesus) is inappropriate to customers, he's basically giving permission to the staff to behave accordingly. You need to remind your staff that customers aren't a bother, they are the reason you are employed.
Had a terrible experience last night 3.
22.24 Friends treated us to dinner for a special occasion, otherwise I would have spoke to someone, did not want to embarrass our Hosts though. I had to actually hide my meal ink napkins it was that uneatable! I had the Mahi (Blacked) prior to ordering I asked our server if it was fresh , his reply "it just came in" When the meal arrived the Mahi was VERY FISHY , one could tell it was old. Supposed to be Blackend (the server recommended it served that way) hardly seasoned at all , more like a sprinkling of Black Pepper is all. The roll was stale and hard. The fries cold and limp. Called today to speak to a manager and had to explain myself TWICE once to the girl that answered the phone and then again to the manager. He then asked "do you have the receipt?" my reply was when someone treats you to dinner do you ask them for a receipt????? I mean come on!! Gave him a chance to redeem himself and he did not. What a shame to ruin a special occasion. Very sad.
Food good with caveat.
Visited this restaurant a few days ago. I had the oysters and my wife had the salmon spread as appetizers. Both very good although I had a fair amount of shell in the oyster. For main meal, my wife had the mahi mahi which was very good. I had the sea bass crusted with scallops. It was good except for the craft that it was over salted. Over salting seems to be an epidemic in restaurants these days it seems and I’m not talking about chain restaurants. Generally a good experience. Our waiter was great.
I was disappointed that we didn't get a table with a view
I was disappointed that we didn't get a table with a view but I was so pleased with our server Michelle. She made our evening so enjoyable. We both have food sensitivities and she spent extra time with us making sure our meal was perfect for us. And, it was. I had the Grouper Imperial which was amazing. My husband had the 1pound pork chop - which was huge - and he loved it.
What's the big deal here/?
Over hyped and over priced. Got stuck in their sushi room.with no ambience. Huge menu and good wait staff.u will need a reservation and even with that u will wait./ parking lot cannot accommodate their many customers and no parking nearby. Been here 3 times because of gift cards we had but probably not again.the restaurant is also very noisey. .
Frank (Francis) was phenomenal as were the bartenders.
The food, drinks and view were excellent. Next time you're there I definitely recommend requesting Frank for your server and if you'd like a prime view of the bay definitely recommend a reservation.
Dismissive and rude manager named Chelsea
It certainly seems to be the trend when you look up the name Chelsea at Salt Rock Grill. So I know this has not been only my experience. If you haven’t had the pleasure, she is the completely unpleasant manager that occasionally picks up the phone. My family and I have dined at this restaurant many times including numerous holidays in the past and the only person I continually have had an issue with is this woman. One year we are able to seat our family together, the next it’s “not their policy to seat large tables and her hands are tied.” We’re less than 10 in the early evenings, thus should be completely status quo for the restaurant. I’ll note we even booked 2 reservations at the same time. The sheer inconvenience of having to merge two reservations in a restaurant of this size was obviously too much for her despite there being open reservations currently. No alternative presented, just ‘no’ and too bad. This is even further frustrating when having experienced the less than full restaurant at that time in the past for the same day. She was completely off putting and dismissive and it’s unfortunate that they will lose our business and any of our many friends and family that had previously frequented due to poor staffing.
Good food, terribly inappropriate service
Been here many times and loved it. But had a terrible experience this evening. Shift manager Jesus and server Ashley were rude and totally unprofessional, and treated us in a manner no customer should ever be treated. Will contact the general manager tomorrow.
Retrain your Staff in Customer Service
Disappointed. Made a reservation 2 weeks ago and was seated in a windowless area up front. We expressed our dismay and Jesus told us it’s not about the table or the view you're here to eat. He was condescending and dismissive. Ashley the hostess was also incredibly rude. Table of 6 and not one person was served the salad that was ordered. Too many lovely places in the area to be treated unprofessionally. Paul GM I hope you’re reading this. When the shift manager is inappropriate to customers he’s basically giving permission to the rest of the staff to behave accordingly. You need to remind your staff that customers aren’t a bother; they are the reason you're employed.
I heard several great recommendations to try the Salt Rock
I heard several great recommendations to try the Salt Rock Grill and I was honestly very disappointed in the quality of the food we received. The place is beautiful nd the service was good but the food was very expensive and nothing I would recommend let alone rave about. I rarely write reviews but when I spend that much for a dinner that I didn't even like that much I feel obligated to share my opion.
Salt Rock grill Indian
Awesome food, awesome view, outstanding presentation, and Ben, oh Ben! Best waiter Of 2024! ( don’t get a big head Ben. It’s only March!!
The vibe is everything here
We showed up early and were happy they could seat us. Should have waited the ambiance in back room was brutal. The restaurant was awesome vibe food was ok on the expensive side, sitting in restaurant would have made this review positive. Don’t take the seating in the back
Tough Situation
Nine years of dining at Salt Rock, and it is a victim of it's own success, and as with most restaurants short staffed. Our reservation was for 8:30 dinner and many entrees were no longer available as well as my choice of wine. Our delightful server from El Salvador (sorry to not remember her name) was apologizing to the table next to us for the 40 minute entree delay simultaneously warning us that the kitchen was behind. She is very skilled at handling multiple diners, to say the least. The dining room was so loud that conversation was impossible. It did quiet down eventually. Our daughter and son-in-law had a long standing reservation on another night and were seated in the undesirable, no atmosphere side room, no windows, etc. Several other couples asked to be re-sat and were moved, and they should have also made the request. The wine and several types of beer they ordered were unavailable, their entrees cold, the sides were hot. As parents of small kids, this was to be their big night out for the week while we stayed with our grand kids. We will move on to other spots unless we have early reservations. Bummer.
Amazing Service
Definitely will be back, we met some friends for dinner. Our server Nicole was very friendly and knowledgeable. Her recommendations were spot on. The escargot was delicious and the wine she recommended was perfect.
Food is fabulous.
The service is efficient. Love the bread and dipping spices. It's a great place

Tried this place out last night was very impressed from the location, to the food and service and atmosphere will definitely be adding this to our rotation
Great view, fantastic food and our server Ben was amazing!
Great view, fantastic food and our server Ben was amazing! Fresh seafood and fair prices - definitely left full and happy!
Adam, our server, was outstanding/did great job of
Adam, our server, was outstanding/did great job of communicating in a not so great situation. He said the bar was very busy. It took over 1/2 hr for our drinks to arrive.Seafood apps were good. Folks in our group seemed to enjoy their meals. 2 of us non-fish eaters ordered steak. We both ordered medium rare. Both steaks (one NY strip and mine was bone-in ribeye) arrived dry, grey and flavorless. Neither of us ate our steaks. Nice atmosphere tho. Lovely view from the lower area!
Decent food, fairly pricy.
Service is usually good, today, not so much. Brought wrong salads twice. Second time I never commented and just ate it. Afterwords, they did comment and offered complimentary coffee. Outdoor seating is excellent but indoors is cramped, very loud with limited privacy. Place is Always packed.
Excellent seafood and view
Ben was an excellent waiter. He was kind, fun loving and attentive with his approach to service. Cant beat the seafood and love the view at the restaurant of the intercostal. Highly recommend.
Great place! Beautiful
We Had fantastic service and food! Our waiter was Ben and he was amazing! He had great tips for food and was very out going.

Ate a family dinner here with appetizers, entrees, and desserts... all were amazing. Calamari is a MUST... definitely pricey but worth it if you can get in.
The best place to eat in the area.
The atmosphere, servers, food and value all get 5 stars. We had the best server, not the norm post Covid.
Great food and service.
This place is great! The quality of the food is outstanding and the service is great. Our group of 8 was there in early March. Gina was our waitress and even with a mishap with a tray of drinks she smiled and acted like nothing went wrong. She was a delightful server. The Early dinner option is a good value. Year after year when we come the food is top notch.
Always have a nice dinner at Salt Rock.
We love the drinks, salads, the fresh bread and olive oil is the best! Seafood to sushi and steak we have tried it all

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
