Twisted Fern Park City Reviews from The Last Year
What a gem we found! This is tucked away in a strip but
What a gem we found! This is tucked away in a strip but don't let that discourage you. This place is sooo good! Fresh food and great wine! We really enjoyed everything. The dessert. Oh, the dessert. I still think about it. Banana Brûlée- fresh banana topped with the same thing as a crème brûlée, coconut pudding or tapioca in the middle with fresh berries. The flavors were great and wasn't just a pile of sugar. It was refreshing and oh so delicious!
Great food but pricey
My family dined at this restaurant based on the review. Food ranged from good to amazing. I had sea scallops. It had 3 pieces of scallops and every piece was consistently and perfectly cooked. Side of spaetzles and Brussels sprouts are quite appetizing. My son had a short rib Shorty Melt and my husband had a salad and Mac and cheese. We had an Octopus for an appetizer. Octopus was very good. However, it only had one arm. In the local 5-star award winning restaurant in Colorado where I live, I get melt-in-the-mouse Octopus -2 arms for $25. The same Spanish style but with purple potatoes. $23 for one piece at Twisted Fern and not melting in mouth to me is too pricey despite the flavor. Food is definitely good but question whether worth paying the premium price you would in a five-star hotel restaurant. Scallops met the bar but the rest of the items didn’t meet. We still enjoyed our dining experiences. Next time, we will stick to non-gourmet and normally priced items.
Fantastic find
I am so pleased: The ease of getting a reservation, available parking, no wait and helpful staff. Overall the staff was attentive appropriately observing and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic and reminiscent of a Michelin star restaurant. Our compliments were sent to the chef but they did not visit. That might be the only difference. The food was excellent and delicious. We had the octopus. Trout salad and the scallops. For dessert we had peanut butter bread pudding and chocolate mousse and port. All amazing. Would return.
So many better places to dine in Park City
Very disappointed after reading Trip advisor reviews. Highlight of our night was our server DJ! He was a star. Smoked Trout dip was great and beet salad was outstanding. Elk was chewy and not very good, trout was outstanding. Restaurant is in a strip mall and atmosphere is mediocre . Good cocktail and wine selection. Staff was friendly but be sure DJ is your server!
Good. Not great for the $$$
Thought it was a bit over-hyped and certainly overpriced. Had the Elk steak, pork chop, trout. All were good but unfortunately we thought it was overpriced. Pork chop was a bit tough. Burger was cooked perfectly medium. Cocktails were yummy and creative. service was excellent.
Came here after a day of snowboarding at Park City.
Portion sizes were large for the price and food was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. The vibe of the restaurant is more casual and not overly fancy.
Great for a night out.
This is a great restaurant, overall love the vibe and the food. The roasted chickpeas are a must. Wait staff have always been polite and helpful. One warning, they will sometimes raise their prices around peak tourist season like Sundance.
Great meal
Had a lovely meal and fantastic friendly server - she was from Massachusetts- we really enjoyed our time at this restaurant- this us our second visit to the restaurant and will be back
Delicious food, great atmosphere, excellent service.
I had the burger which was absolutely delicious that came with probably the best fries I've had. Definitely worth a visit to this hidden gem when in Park City.

We had one of the best meals I've eaten in a long time at the Twisted Fern. It started with the polenta cake, topped with sauteed mushrooms. It was phenomenal. I then had the elk and my partner had the trout. The elk was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Dessert was coconut topped tapioca pudding with sauteed bananas on the side. It was delicious and delicate. The wine selection was nice. The server was excellent and we enjoyed our meal in a leisurely manner. And thankfully she did not interrupt conversation when she came to the table, as so many wait staff do these days.
Such a great experience.
I thought service like this was dead. Super friendly people. Attentive. My water glass was alway full. They were knowledgeable about the gluten content on their menu and could make recommendations. They also have a dedicated fryer! It wasn't overly loud. Tastefully decorated and still casual enough to go in jeans and a sweater.

Really good food and I would definitely come back! The restaurant is great for a date night- super cute inside, spacious, plenty of bar seating too. Crispy Polenta with Mushrooms 8/10: I loved the texture of the crispy cakey polenta and the mushrooms had a savory slightly spicy undertone to it. Delicious! Ragu Rigatoni 8/10: this was a really solid standard rigatoni! No complaints. I liked the ricotta cheese on top and could've had the pasta a *little* less al dente but otherwise really solid choice. Duck 10/10: delicious, amazing, outstanding duck! These flavors were an insane punch in the mouth of creamy comforting but also slightly zingy. The butternut squash puree paired so well with the spice-packed duck. Can't recommend this enough. Coconut tapioca pudding with caramelized bananas 8/10: this was also a really delicious dessert. My only suggestion would be to make the tapioca pudding cold. We recently went to an Indian restaurant that served the coconut tapioca pudding over ice and that was a great way to cool down our palate.
Stole the show
Two thumbs up across the board: Service, Ambiance, Food, Drinks...all nailed it! We were there with a party of 10 ranging in age from 2 years to 73 years and everyone had a great time and a great meal! Our server was attentive and patiently answered our questions. The mixed drinks and beers were all top notch. The food was fabulous. We got a number of appetizers to share and then each got our own entrees. The Spanish octopus appetizer was amazing, the brussels were divine and the smoked trout dip (which we ordered as an afterthought) stole the show! Everyone enjoyed their entrees and I'd particularly recommend the elk. The kids were getting antsy so we ordered our dessert to go and the only mistake was that we didn't order more. We'll definitely be back next time we visit Park City, Utah. This meal was the best of our 4-night stay in town!
Outstanding service and delicious food! Cool little
Outstanding service and delicious food! Cool little restaurant in the middle of a strip mall. My husband and I always order octopus it's on a menu. The Spanish Octopus appetizer was perfection! We shared the Pork Ragu with spicy ricotta and the Shorty Melt. Both dishes were fantastic! We also tried a couple of the homemade sodas. The white peach was good, the mango wasn't our favorite. We wished we had room for dessert. We saw people ordering the brownie sundae and wished we had saved room for it!
Nice atmosphere and good food
This was our first time to Twisted Fern and we enjoyed it. We started with the smoked trout dip. It was delicious. It was served with homemade potato chips. For entrees, I got the root vegetable cassoulet and my husband got the short rib sandwich. The cassoulet was fine, it had nice flavor, but there was nothing that stood out. I guess I should have expected that. My husband really enjoyed the short ribs. We also had asparagus. It was nicely cooked, with some crispness, and the vinaigrette was tasty.
Disappointed considering all the great reviews.
The food was good but failed to meet high expectations based on those reviews. I tried the pork chop based on the waiters suggestion and it was dry and lacking in flavor. Very expensive for what you get.

This place was our favorite of the entire trip! From the Elk to the Duck to the Burger that we ended up going back twice for we were blown away. Definitely recommend to any locals and travelers looking for a wonderful place with great ambiance, food and drinks. Can't wait to come back!
The highlight dinner of our trip
While service would give this restaurant an edge, this was the prettiest and most unique dinner that we had while in Park City. This menu is a cut above most traditional offerings in town. I started with the Indigo 75 made with butterfly pea powder to give the drink a marvelous hue. Next was a beet and ricotta salad with ground pistachio, shitake fritters with lentils and chili popcorn, and a caramel bread pudding reminiscent of French toast but much more decadent. My husband had plainer tastes and went for a high quality ground beef burger with bacon and cheese and a brownie sundae. Everything was delicious. Don't let the strip mall exterior fool you. The inside is a modern, bright affair. Service was good though our mac and cheese never came and it was quite difficult to get a soda water when their bottled options were out. There was a bit of a wait - the greeter who chose to hang out on the phone while we and another couple waited. Someone else came to rescue us. A solid 4.5 stars.

Holy moly the food is amazing! I am NOT a foodie by any stretch however I received excellent recommendations from our lovely server Elizabeth and each dish out did the next. Seriously hands down the BEST pastrami macaroni and cheese ever, definitely ranked at the top of Brussel sprouts I've ever had and an amazing pork chop. The drinks were solid. I selfishly ate more than my fair share. No regrets!
Delicious meal!
The best meal we had in Park City! I was surprised to find this place in a strip mall away from the hustle of Main Street, but maybe that's what makes this place great. We had to change our reservation at the last minute and were accommodated no problem. Our waitress was friendly, professional and honest. When I asked her how a certain dish was, she honestly told me what her favorites were, so I trusted her and ordered the Scallops and it was delicious! A plate full of perfect flavors and portions. The after dinner drink was a little on the small pour side, but overall great meal. This ended up being my favorite meal of the week by a landslide!
