Uno Tre Otto Claremont Reviews from The Last Year
Challenging to locate.
Tiny hostess stand that is often not attended to. No visible access for people with limited mobility/wheelchairs. Reservations are a highly recommended. Indoor & outdoor seating in a rustic, charming setting. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered good suggestions. Wine list is $$$ though impressive. Limited options of alcohol. We shared several small plates to start, stand out being the Crudo! Roasted beet salad was a close 2nd but would have preferred it mixed together. For individual entrees the poached cod was a miss, no flavor at all. The Milanese pork was outstanding! Rigatoni was fantastic too.
Amazing service, amazing food.
May seem over priced but they are worth every penny. They get their ingredients fresh and that reflects on the taste of the food, it's amazing! Do be sure to make a reservation. The ambiance is nice and romantic. I brought my wife here on date night and it's been one of our favorite date nights to talk about . Worth the visit .
Very unique place.
Everything they make is great. Their pasta is VERY good, as are their meat entrees. And as good as those were, the deserts were even better. Call ahead as you will need a reservation, and you may need to book a week ahead of time. But its worth it!

I have been going to the Claremont Village since I was a kid in the early 2000's. There is a lot of great food there but I don't know of any place that compares to Uno Tre Otto. It is literally hidden away, for years I had no idea it existed. The first time I went I walked right by it without any clue. Thankfully my friend had been and knew exactly where to go, but this added to the charm a bit. The servers and staff are attentive and friendly. Be warned though that the check-in is outside and sometimes nobody is manning that station, so you may have to sit and wait a bit. The food is incredible and the decor inside really goes together well. When we went last night we were informed that they will be adding rooftop seating, which will provide a really neat seating opportunity. The drinks are always great, my wife always gets the Negroni while I like to switch it up each order. I would absolutely recommend to anybody. It can be a bit on the loud side since it is a small confined space, but once rooftop seating is available that should alleviate that.
Yes, please! What a special place.
Tucked in. Beautiful. And then -- wow -- the food! Paparadelle blew my mind. Total win! Go!
It was okay.
I was expecting food to be a lot better considering the reviews, need for reservation and prices. Service was good. Food was mid. I probably wouldn't come again though honestly.
Wow, wow, wow !!! What a lovely place.
This is by far the best Italian restaurant in the village. Nothing beats the bread with the salted butter or those crispy potato's. It is so charming with its decor and ambience, if I had a date, this is where I would want him to wine and dine me!
Food is great.
Just a bit disappointed how long it took for our food to come to us. I was showing my close friends the restaurant for the first time. They were disappointed in the wait time. Not all our food came out the same time. Making it difficult to share. Usual the ambiance is amazing the decorations always nice.

We had a reservation for 7:15, but we were seated inside in a very crowded location. The seating arrangement indoors was so hectic and almost absurd. it was loud and there was no privacy as the parties adjacent were within less than an arms length away. we asked to be seated outside, and 10 minutes later it started raining, but all the waitresses were super kind and helpful in moving us to a better location. since the seating is very limited, we had to wait for a party to leave. we were able to sit down and order at 8:15. in spite of this situation, the food was absolutely delicious. If it weren't for the seating hassle this would definitely be a 5 star rating. The rich flavors of the pesto had so many layers, and the steak was perfectly and evenly cooked and seasoned. After we received our dishes our experience was beyond excellent. this place is definitely a top recommendation if you are looking for an authentic italian restaurant.
Came here on a whim for dinner with my husband and daughter.
We had the Manila clams, steak, bolognese, and rock cod. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The waitress was so kind and the chef was so sweet to our 19 month old daughter, sending out oranges and bread for her. What a gem of a spot we found. Definitely a new favorite spot.

I had been here on one other occasion and remembered it was good. So we decided to go again for my husband's birthday...and it was awful. We're locals, and for starters, they literally sat us in a parking lot which was so poorly paved you could barely walk on it. The waiter was great and had a good energy but the woman who was the food runner was condescending and rude. The food was poorly seasoned, the portions were ridiculously small, and the steak was dry. When we asked if the chef could whip up a sauce for the steak the food runner informed us, "We don't have A1." It was condescending and meant to be so. I will never go back and will instead take my business to Arruffo's where the staff is friendly. What a huge disappointment.
the food was really good but wait was 1 hour and 1/2 .
that is ridicules . the price was little high for how small portions where . will not come back due to such a long wait and price for such small portions . only giving stars because food did taste good ,
LOVED so much about this place.
Very unassuming at first, but you're immersed inside the space. Food was simple and intensely flavorful. Just the right about of chatter to feel homey in a smaller dining area. The staff were so helpful and nice. A new favorite spot for us!
Nice ambiance, good drinks, good food and awesome
Nice ambiance, good drinks, good food and awesome butterscotch budino! Small restaurant, not that many tables... but it was a great dinner!
Food is good , but be ready to wait .
.. took them about 90 minutes to bring us our order .... It's a bit small ... but it has a vintage sort of look.

A must-visit gem! The food was amazing, with perfect portions, and I love that they grow their own produce. It's a charming, cozy spot tucked away in Claremont. Highly recommend if you're in the area!
A taste of Europe in Claremont??? Yes...
Absolutely fantastic. Yes, the service is slow (even to get a table). But that's part of the European experience and it usually signals a restaurant that takes its time, focuses on the experience and truly makes your food to order. And boy does it show. The food was absolutely jaw dropping - nothing short of some of the best Italian food I've had in the States. The ambience is charming and beautiful. The staff from the host to the servers were delightful, sweet and very knowledgable. We ate all three pastas (spectacular), best Cesar we've ever had, incredible Sicilian wine and so much more. We left so happy. It felt like we were back in Europe. This is easily the best restaurant in the area. It's a dream.
Delicious dinner spot in a charming southern CA town
If you find yourself in Claremont, this is a terrific dinner spot. I have been here twice and will be happy to go again. The food is delicious, the restaurant is lovely, and the waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Try the house made pastas!
Amazing!
Had an amazing meal. The flavors were exquisitely delicate. Plates were creative and delicious. Ambience was cozy and warm. And the service impeccable. Will make it a regular stop in our visits to Claremont.
