We started at the bar and our bartender was great while waiting for the table. Place was busy but served reasonably quick. We thought we had an hour wait as we were winging it for dinner that evening after a long bike ride on the lake shore trail. We were seated perhaps within 10-15 mins. Service was attentive and at times with masks on it was a bit hard to hear everything our waitress said thus we would just ask again. The place was pretty chill throughout and noted all ages and ethnicity enjoying their meals.
We agree that it was traditional Indian fused with some non traditional as we read on other reviews after our visit and it did not disappoint and if anything pleasantly surprised with the taste especially of our dishes. We ordered the lamb keema hyderadabi as our small plate for starters and this minced lamb with green peas and potato mousse was wonderful and it’s mixture of mild curry allowed you to really taste the ingredients and the brioche was neat and made for quite a bit of ‘dipping’. I actually waited for the Basmati rice so that I could slather the dish on top.
We then went on with the Butter Chicken with some garlic naan. The four pieces of chicken was just right for the two of us and again it did not disappoint. The spices were great and it had a lot of sauce that allowed to use for our naan bread. Sometimes when we’ve had butter chicken in other places it’s usually a ton of ‘cream’ and rich or a few times quite spicy and I must say this was one of the best butter chicken dishes I’ve had. I’m by no means an expert but definitely a dish to try. If you’re quite hungry then you may want your own but one small plate as above and then the butter chicken was plenty for my wife and I. To help keep the ‘chill’ on our meal a glass of Chardonnay (my wife) and/or a bottle of Kingfisher beer was great with dinner.
Compliments to staff from the bartender to our waitress and of course the chef, well done. We’ll make sure to revisit!
