We are a family of foodies and we were in Chicago for a holiday. We had heard from our friends that this was a restaurant worth visiting. Coming from Dubai, which is a haven for global cuisine, especially Indian, our curiosity was aroused. On a rainy night, we decided on the go to Rooh. The closing time was 9.30pm and we reached by 9pm. We were greeted reluctantly by the Manager and offered a table. I made a comment that we had heard a lot about Rooh but couldn’t call in to make a reservation. He replied curtly that a lot of people say that but never take the effort to reserve. I replied, ‘Aren’t you happy that we are here?’. This seemed to cool him off. The waitress at the table though was very pleasant and the food awesome. Our whole experience was marred by the Manager’s behavior. Indian cuisine is not only about the taste and quality of the food, it’s spices but also about welcoming and hospitality. On that count, I would downgrade this restaurant. I hope the owners take note of it.
